The Route Paul Will Follow Through Alaska
During
his 500-mile, 3-week trek through the heart of Alaska Paul will
encounter the Arctic Circle, Denali National Park, Canada's border,
glaciers, native villages, vast wilderness, truly wild wildlife, and more... including
the Santa Claus House at North Pole. It's important to keep in mind
that Alaska is larger than California, Montana and Texas combined.
The image to the right shows how large Alaska is in comparison to
the continental United States. At its farthest points, Alaska is
about 1,400 miles long and 2,700 miles wide. It would not be
possible for Paul to run either the length or width of Alaska in a
mere 3 weeks. In order to run through some of the highlights of
Alaska on his 500-mile journey,
Paul and
"Bob"
will occasionally be transported by vehicle to different areas in
the state. This will allow Paul to be able to share significant
locations in Alaska with the student runners and walkers around the
world who will be virtually accompanying him. Specific route details
should be posted on this page by September 15. Please check back!

"I know it is hard for you to be on the road constantly, but you just
keep on going until you reach your destination. I think that would
take a lot of guts to run with all the blisters and stuff like that.
You are one of my role models that I think could do anything you
wanted. So I thank you for being there and showing kids around the
world that if you put your mind to something, you can do almost
anything you want. THANK YOU!!"
