Although
I am the "runner" that is being watched during these
ultra-endurance treks, it is the participating
children that all of this is designed for... and they are
truly the focus of each step taken. The participating kids
have run and walk miles
in hometown locations across the U.S.A., as well as such places in Australia, Cayman Islands, Germany, Italy, Japan, Malaysia,
Portugal, Scotland, Spain, South Korea, and the United Kingdom.

My role in P.A.C.E. Trek is simply one of a contributing
teacher, sharing thoughts about health, fitness, running,
goal setting, and information about the locations I trek
through. Yes, I am the one being seen in the photos and
videos at this web site for educational purposes. However,
everyone visiting this site should realize that the reason
P.A.C.E. Trek occurs each year is to benefit children. They
are the reason I run, and they are the ones who inspire and
encourage me to run. Without the children, P.A.C.E. would
cease to exist.

I've been humbled by the very kind guestbook entries, e-mail
messages, cards and letters that I've received from
teachers, parents and children due to my efforts through
P.A.C.E. Trek. Their words are an affirmation to me that I
am on the right course with this. I never want P.A.C.E. to
become something heavily commercialized or watered down for profit.
I really want P.A.C.E. to stay rooted in the discussion I had with my daughter in 2005. It's all about
youth health, fitness, learning, goal setting, and thinking about what each of us might achieve
while on this big blue marble we call earth.

The champions that you'll see in any P.A.C.E. Trek challenge
are all children. I'm just an organizer, encourager and
runner leading the way through various locations that lie
far beyond the school boundaries where the participating
kids are located. It's a privilege to plan and prepare each
trek for the children.

I
am fortunate beyond measure to be able to do P.A.C.E. Trek
challenges and although each endeavor is a huge commitment
by me and my family, I will continue to do these as long as I can. Thanks for your interest!
