The Montana Route For P.A.C.E. Trek 2008 . . .
The
620-mile route
across Montana will begin in the Great Plains at the
Montana/North Dakota border (12 miles east of Baker,
Montana on Highway 12) and end in the Bitterroot
Mountains at the Idaho/Montana border (at the top of Lolo
Pass on Highway 12, elevation 5,200 feet). While
traversing Montana Paul will run primarily on Highway 12,
but will also encounter Highway 141, Highway 200 and a
portion of I-90.

Nearly
one-third of the route (200 miles) will either encounter or
parallel the original route taken over 200 years ago by
Lewis and Clark,
including:
(1) the
Lower
Yellowstone Corridor towns of Miles City;
Hathaway; Rosebud; Forsyth; (2) the
Headwaters Corridor
towns of Townsend; Winston; Helena; (3) the
Blackfeet
Corridor towns of Helmville; Ovando; Greenough; Potomac;
Bonner; Missoula; and, (4) the
Bitterroot Corridor towns of
Lolo and Lolo Hot Springs.
The east-to-west P.A.C.E. Trek route across Montana will go
through
the following towns and cities: Baker; Plevna; Miles City;
Hathaway; Rosebud; Forsyth; Vananda; Ingomar; Sumatra;
Melstone; Musselshell; Delphi; Roundup; Lavina; Cushman;
Ryegate; Shawmutt; Harlowton; Two Dot; Martinsdale;
Checkerboard; White Sulphur Springs; Townsend; Winston;
Helena; Elliston; Avon; Helmville; Ovando; Greenough;
Potomac; Bonner; Missoula; Lolo; and, Lolo Hot Springs.
