Chenoa, Illinois

Coral Court
St. Louis, Missouri
Opened 1941 - closed 1993 - torn down 1995

Skelly Gas Station
Lebanon, Missouri
Opened 1950's - closed and deserted

Melinda Court
Springfield, Missouri
Opened 1930's - still open

Chain of Rocks Bridge
Illinois over the Mississippi River to Missouri

Today, this restoration project is open only to foot and bike traffic. Built to serve Route 66 traffic in 1929, it has a dangerous, narrow 22° bend.

Trail of Tears Memorial
West of Arlington, Missouri
Built by hand by one man, this stone memorial commemorates the Tragic Trail of Tears march of 1838-39 that claimed over 4,000 Cherokee lives.

Motel
Kellyville, Oklahoma
Opened 1930's - closed and deserted

Phillips 66 Gas Station
McLean, Texas
Opened 1920's - restored 1993

U-Drop-Inn / Tower Station
Shamrock, Texas
Today, this unusual example of art deco architecture has been restored and houses a visitors' center.

"Grapes of Wrath" Truck
Landergrin, Texas
Parked in front of 'Route 66 Antiques' in Landergrin, Texas.

Big Texan Steak Ranch
Amarillo, Texas
The "Big Texan" offers a 72 oz. steak free to those who can eat it within an hour.

Halfway Point Sign
Adrian, Texas
Adrian is publicized as the halfway point on the route between Chicago and Santa Monica.

Cadillac Ranch
Amarillo, Texas
Amarillo tycoon, Stanley Marsh had 10 Cadillacs, ranging from 1957 to 1963 vintage, buried nose down.
