PAUL'S 500-MILE ROUTE THROUGH GERMANY

The route that Paul ran across Germany was certainly one that covered all sorts of terrain and went through many villages as well as some larger towns. As you read through his online journal, which you can access here, you'll see that his route crossed the country in those locations which allowed for him to visit as many U.S. Department of Defense Dependents Schools as possible in order to do assemblies. In all, he did 25 school assemblies during his time in Germany, speaking to thousands of students in grades K-12.

During the course of the three-week solo run, Paul encountered a variety of weather conditions: harsh winds; bitter cold; snow; rain; and, even a little sunshine. It was a difficult route to take on during the month of March and Paul was primarily in the southern part of Germany throughout the journey.
