Something Today About Germany...
Stegaurach is a community of
about 7,000 people which lies in the valley of the Aurach, about 4 miles
west of Bamberg. Stegaurach belonged to the High Monastery at Bamberg.
Stegaurach was actually part of the hereditary estate administration, a
great deal of which was made up of the High Monastery’s property. Nearby
Stegaurach is Pommersfelden, a tiny town of about 3,000
people. In Pommersfelden is Schloss Weißenstein (castle), built by
Lothar Franz von Schönborn between 1711 and 1716, which is nowadays in
private family ownership. The Baroque castle houses an impressive
stairway, an indoor garden grotto and a collection of paintings. In the
middle of the community are remnants of an old castle with a moat –
although it is not open to the public.

Something Today About Health & Fitness...
Everyone can benefit from regular exercise.
Kids who are active will:
have stronger muscles and bones;
have a leaner
body because exercise helps control body fat;
be less likely to become overweight;
decrease the risk of developing type 2 diabetes;
possibly lower blood pressure and blood cholesterol levels;
and,
have a better outlook on life.
Besides enjoying the health benefits of regular exercise, kids who are
physically fit sleep better and are better able to handle physical and
emotional challenges – from running to catch a bus to studying for a
test. When most adults think about exercise, they imagine working out in
the gym on a treadmill or lifting weights. But for kids, exercise means
playing and being physically active. Kids exercise when they have gym
class at school, soccer practice, or dance class. They're also
exercising when they're at recess, riding bikes, or playing tag. Kids
are designed to play toward greater fitness.

Did
You Know?
Weight for weight, bone is five times
stronger than steel. The strongest bone is the thigh bone, or femur. The
smallest bone is the stirrup in the middle ear. When babies are born
they have more than 300 bones, but many fuse together as they grow, so
adults have just 206 bones. Overall, the skeleton of your body provides
an anchor for the muscles and makes a mount for skin and other tissues.
Your skeleton also protects your heart, brain, and other organs. ______________________________________________________________________________
