Something Today About Germany...
Over 80% of Germany's land is used for
agriculture and forestry. Chief agricultural products include milk,
pork, beef, poultry, cereals, potatoes, wheat, barley, cabbages, and
sugar beets. In some regions wine, fruits, and vegetables, and other
horticultural products play an important role. Agricultural products
vary from region to region. In the flat terrain of northern Germany and
especially in the eastern portions, cereals and sugar beets are grown.
Elsewhere, on more hilly terrain, and even on mountainous land, farmers
produce vegetables, milk, pork, or beef. Fruit orchards and vegetable
farms surround almost all large cities. River valleys in southern and
western Germany along the Rhine and the Main are covered with vineyards.

Something Today About Health & Fitness...
Children and adolescents should do 60
minutes or more of physical activity each day. Children should
participate in activities that are age-appropriate, enjoyable and offer
variety. Three types of physical activity should be done: (1) Aerobic
Activity – this should make up most of a child's 60 or more minutes
of physical activity each day. This can include either
moderate-intensity aerobic activity, such as brisk walking, or
vigorous-intensity activity, such as running. Vigorous-intensity aerobic
activity should occur at least 3 days per week. (2) Muscle
Strengthening – this includes such activities as gymnastics or
push-ups and should occur at least 3 days per week as part of a child's
60 or more minutes. (3) Bone Strengthening – this includes such
activities as jumping rope or running and should occur at least 3 days
per week.

Did
You Know?
Every move you make depends
on muscles. Running, dancing, smiling... everything! You even need
muscles to sit still, because without them you would slump over. Muscles
are bundles of fibers that tense and relax to move different parts of
the body, and there are two kinds: muscles that you can control (called
voluntary muscles) and muscles that you can't control (called
involuntary muscles). Most voluntary muscles are "skeletal muscles" –
muscles that move parts of your body when you want to. Involuntary
muscles are those of your heart and around your gut - which work
automatically. ______________________________________________________________________________
