Learn Something Today About Germany...

The landmark of Allersberg, Germany is its Gate Tower. The tower was used as a school, and the tower guards were both protectors and teachers at the same time. It was also used as the location for the public market scales. In addition, part of the Gate Tower was the so-called "Allersberger Loch", the local jail. Today there are exhibitions of local artists and theater performances. The heart of town is the market square, where you can find shops, restaurants and the town hall. Until the mid 1970's, Allersberg was connected to the local railway system. When it was no longer economical to operate, it was closed and the rails were removed. Still existing is the Old Station House, which is now home to the local public library. The oldest building of Allersberg is the All Saints Church. Some fragments from the 13th century are still visible. The church was renovated between 1946-1956, after it was destroyed in World War II.

Learn Something Today About Health & Fitness...

You might be surprised at how working out can change your whole day. When endorphins are released into your bloodstream during exercise you feel much more energized the rest of the day. And when you improve your strength and stamina, it's easier to accomplish everyday tasks. This also helps you feel more energetic over the course of the day. While exercise may make you feel more tired at first, that won't last long. The physical tiredness you feel after working out isn't the same as everyday fatigue. Besides, once your body adjusts to exercise, you'll have more energy than ever. So, have you done some physical activity today for at least one hour? If not, stop reading this and go for a run, a bike ride, play basketball, or something!

Did You Know?

Your heart beats 300 million times each year. The heart pumps blood around your body every second of the day. Blood carries oxygen, nutrients and chemicals that every body cell needs to survive, and blood washes away all the waste products - including carbon dioxide. How fast does blood flow? Blood flows through the arteries at 40 inches (or just over 3 feet) each second. Now that's fast! I (Paul) weigh around 150 pounds and have about 10 pints of blood in my body. How many pints of blood do you think your body has? ______________________________________________________________________________
