Something Today About Germany...
Ramstein (population around 17,000) is considered one of the most
attractive tourist destinations in Germany. It is situated in the
southwestern side of Frankfurt in the rural region of Kaiserslautern.
Ramstein is famous for the U.S. airbase, which has its head office
situated in this small town. Ramstein Air Base was established in the
1953 and has administrative centers, schools, marketplaces, and housing
areas. The Air Base was established in Ramstein with the assistance of
the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO). All of the European air
forces are located in Ramstein. Besides the U.S. Air Force, the
installation's population includes Belgian, British, Canadian, Czech,
Danish, Dutch, French, German, Italian, Norwegian, and Polish personnel.
Over 5,000 U.S. air soldiers along with over 16,000 service members work
at Ramstein Air Base. Ramstein Air Base is an example of international
collaboration: designed by French engineers, constructed by Germans and
operated by Americans.

Something Today About Health & Fitness...
You may not be aware of this, but many
schools and local parks are now posting rules that include "No Running".
Yes... you read that right. Playgrounds that kids are not supposed to
run on. This began to get attention in 2005 when the Broward County
School District (in Florida) started to post playground signs that said
no running was allowed. So, why would such signs be posted? To help
prevent lawsuits. If a sign reading "No Running" is posted and a child
runs and gets hurt as a result, the school has a defense against a
potential injury lawsuit. However, playgrounds are meant for running on!
Part of playing is running and it's unfortunate to see that the world
has gotten to the point where running on playgrounds is being
discouraged. I, Paul, grew up running on school playgrounds and
attribute much of my adult success in running to the simple act of
running around school playgrounds while I was a boy... playing tag and
having fun. In my mind, posting a sign that says "No Running on
Playground" is no different than a sign which reads "No Playing on
Playground". I wish there was a way to turn back the calendar to a time
when lawsuits involving cuts and scrapes while running and playing on a
playground were as ridiculous as today's "No Running" signs posted at
playgrounds!

Did
You Know?
It is estimated that there
are around 75 million total runners in the United States (and that
includes all levels and abilities). Using high-tech brain imaging scans,
neuroscientists have studied runners’ brains before and after a two-hour
run. What they found: Endorphins flooded the brain during exercise and
gathered around areas of the brain responsible for feel-good moods and
emotion. Yep... running can make you feel good! Running can be an
excellent method of increasing fitness as well as muscular endurance.
Running is very convenient, since it can be done virtually anywhere, and
requires minimal equipment. Have you gone for a run lately? ______________________________________________________________________________
