Something Today About Germany...
The town of Rodenbach (12,000 people) is very close to Naturpark Spessart. The Naturpark Spessart is one of the largest
continuously wooded areas of Europe. Situated at the heart of Germany it
reaches from the Main River in Bavaria to the Kinzig River in Hessen
covering an area of approximately 2,500 kilometers (1,553 miles). The
softly rising hills are widely covered with forests of oak, beech and
fir, divided by valleys with winding creeks and man made meadows. The
aim is to protect endangered animal and plant species, thereby providing
the public with a valuable national treasure.

Something Today About Health & Fitness...
Here's a myth: "Time in physical
education class is time away from academic pursuits and thats what
the kids are tested in. While it is true that P.E. is not a part of
standardized testing, no study has ever shown that more time in P.E. has
a negative impact on academic achievement. Here's another myth: We
dont have enough money to afford daily, quality, P.E. or the
credentialed teachers we need to instruct it. There is money to
spend not much, not enough, but there is money. Budgets are always a
pie to be consumed and the issue is how do you slice it? How large a
piece does P.E. receive, or deserve? Okay, here's another myth:
Parents care about grade point averages and want their students in
class and learning. A national survey of parents and teachers
concluded that over 75% opposed eliminating P.E. due to budget
constraints or to meet increased academic standards. Enough with the
myths and excuses. Let's get kids moving!

Did
You Know?
Your body has slow-twitch "red" muscle
fibers that are good for prolonged gentle movements. "White" fibers are
for short, powerful bursts. Fast-twitch red ones work for both. When
muscles work hard they need more oxygen to burn sugar. So, when you run
your breathing gets faster and deeper, and your heart pumps faster and
harder to boost blood supply. Getting in shape develops bigger lungs and
a stronger heart. If your not, a long run makes you pant and your heart
beat faster... and you'll fee much more tired. ______________________________________________________________________________
